GC Bulletin: Gold Coast beach-goers warned to keep keys on them at all times after spike in car thefts

OPPORTUNISTIC car thieves targeting Gold Coast surfers and swimmers have stolen 11 cars from beaches across the city in the past month.
Police say beachgoers in the habit of leaving their car key with a towel or above a tyre while in the surf have become easy prey for criminals resulting in the massive spike in thefts from beach carparks.
Five cars have been stolen from Currumbin Rocks, three from Goodwin Tce at Burleigh and three from The Spit in the last four weeks.
